With two senior citizens' leisure centres, fifteen senior citizens' residences and two senior citizens' homes, the Wilmersdorf Seniors' Foundation specialises in providing professional support for senior citizens in its Berlin district. ‘Our houses provide a home for senior citizens, where they can live independently, socialise, receive caring support or be lovingly cared for,’ reads their website. And when it was time to subject their own IT environment to a detailed network analysis and review, they decided in favour of DaPhi GmbH.
It is actually similar with age in humans and IT. It is important to look after and care for the body, to optimise movement sequences and keep fit. In geriatric care in particular, as in medicine, it is important that IT as a tool functions as smoothly as possible. After all it is seen as a critical infrastructure in this area. After a detailed analysis, we began to set up a streamlined and easier-to-use environment for the staff, trying as far as possible to continue using the hardware that could still be used. Now, for example, the care data, duty rosters and employee administration are available in one system, but managed separately, and distributed across several servers for optimised security reasons. And since digitalisation is becoming increasingly important in geriatric care in particular, the system is prepared for the future, so that digital patient passports can be used directly, for example. ‘Carefully looked after and lovingly cared for’ - we could not describe our work objective any better, and are delighted to now be able to look after all Wilmersdorfer Seniorenstiftung locations - caringly.
